Superintendent's Update 5/3/16

The greens, as most of you have experienced, are slow and bumpy. This is because the aeration holes from last fall have not healed yet. The mowing height is high right now to help this process. Warm weather, fertilizing, and irrigation will help. The sod on 5 green, used to repair the vandalism, looks really good. I have been able to lower the mowing height on that area already. For now, the back two-thirds of that green will be a higher height than the front-third until I can mow the new sod to the normal summer height of cut. The course has dried out significantly in the last few days. There are still some wet areas that carts need to avoid. Cart signs and ropes are in place to identify those wet areas.
Reminder: please fix ball marks on greens and fill divots with sand, or replace.
